BEAVER — A Nevada woman was killed in a car crash Saturday while traveling to Salt Lake City for her mother's funeral, police said.

Danielle Valle, 48, of Mesquite, Nevada, was a passenger in a 2004 GMC Sierra traveling north on I-15 when the vehicle encountered a storm that left the roadway icy and wet, police said.

The driver, Brett Blake, 48, of Hurricane, lost control and the Sierra slid into the median. The truck rolled several times and came to rest on its wheels.

Investigators said the two female passengers were not wearing their seat belts.

Valle, who was in the front seat, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. The rear seat passenger, Brooke Sanchez, 28, of Mesquite, was seriously injuried and was flown to a hospital via Life Flight, while Blake was transported by ambulance to Beaver Valley Hospital.
