A Utah resident took advantage of Mount Timpanogos’ spring snow and skied the 6,000-foot drop down the mountain.
A YouTube video uploaded by Matt Galland shows him skiing down the south summit of Mount Timpanogos. Galland told Utah Valley 360 that Mount Timpanogos is his favorite spot in Utah Valley.
“It’s diverse, it’s huge and it gives sanctuary to a ton of wildlife,” Galland told Utah Valley 360. “The front side of the mountain is night and day difference from her back side, which is filled with endless wildflowers, snow, mountain goats, waterfalls, lakes and glacially carved geology, while the front is filled with miles of inviting foothills then backed with a near vertical face with gorgeous blue limestone.”
Galland teaches geography at Brigham Young University. His Instagram account, which is filled with pictures of his outdoor adventures, has over 19,000 followers.
