SPRINGVILLE — A 9-year-old boy has died from injuries he suffered in a collision with a vehicle in Springville, police said Thursday.

The boy was riding his bike home from a Scouting activity shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday when he ran a stop sign along Dalton Drive (200 East) and was hit by an SUV in the intersection with 2500 South, Springville Police Lt. David Caron said.

The boy, identified by multiple family friends as Jack Dyal, was taken by helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital, where he was put on life support in the intensive care unit, Caron said. Jack died Thursday from his injuries.

The woman driving the vehicle was not speeding and was not impaired, Caron said, adding that no charges are anticipated against her as a result of the crash.

One of Jack's relatives created a GoFundMe webpage to raise funds for his medical expenses and funeral costs. The page describes him as "smart, funny, and a loving big brother to his little brother and sister."

"He was the first grandchild on both sides of his family, so all of his extended family has special memories of Jack," a statement on the site said.
