GRANTSVILLE — Severe winds on I-80 toppled two semitrailers Friday evening, blocking eastbound traffic, police said.
The semitrailers were about a half-mile apart when they tipped over within five minutes of each other around 5:15 p.m. near Grantsville, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Evan Kirby. One of the trucks blocked both eastbound lanes after tipping, Kirby said. The other was out of traffic.
Only minor injuries resulted from the two crashes, Kirby said. The Utah Highway Patrol diverted motorists to take Exit 84 to Grantsville until about 7 p.m., when one lane of eastbound traffic was reopened.
"All high-profile vehicles … need to be very careful traveling out and about I-80," Kirby said.
