Following the worst mass shooting in U.S. history Sunday morning at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Utahns in several cities along the Wasatch Front have scheduled vigils to show support for the victims and their families.
On Monday, Orlando continued to mourn the shooting that left 49 dead. While police and federal investigators continue to piece together clues that led to the incident, many cities across the county have scheduled events to sing and come together in prayer in support for the victims and those who mourn.
In Utah, several communities have planned events Monday night or later this week. Weather reports show there could be showers in several areas tonight, so people attending one of the vigils are encouraged to wear warm clothing and bring umbrellas.
Here are a few of the locations planning vigils:
Monday, 7 p.m. at Salt Lake City and County Building, 451 S. State Street, Salt Lake City
Monday, 7 p.m. at Memorial Park, 800 Center Street, Provo
• Vigil at Juan Diego Catholic High School
Monday, 9 p.m. at the Center Circle near the bell tower at Juan Diego, 300 E. 11800 South, Draper
Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Weber State Bell Tower Plaza, 3848 Harrison Blvd, Ogden
