RIVERDALE — Police say a man's death was suspicious after his body was found on the Riverdale Parkway trail Saturday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched at 2:52 p.m. after a bicyclist discovered the body while riding on the parkway. The deceased man was 59 years old and was known to be a transient in the area, according to Riverdale Police Lt. Casey Warren.
Officers have not released the man's name pending notification of his family.
The man's death is being investigated as suspicious due to where his body was found, but it appears the death may be from natural causes, Warren said. No obvious cause of death was discovered after completing the initial investigation.
The man's body was transported to the Utah Medical Examiner's office to determine how he died.
