LINDON, Utah County — The city’s annual Lindon Days will be held Monday, Aug. 1, through Saturday, Aug. 6. This year's theme is “Red, White and Blue."
The celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. with a car show at Lindon City Park, 200 N. State.
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, residents are invited to a Night Out Against Crime and Ice Cream Social at 7:30 p.m. at Pioneer Park, 150 S. 500 East. Tours will also be given of the Harris Pioneer Home, and the night will conclude with an outdoor screening of “Kung Fu Panda 3.”
On Wednesday, Aug. 3, there will be a Huck Finn Fishing event at 6:30 p.m. at Creekside Park, 600 West and 100 South.
A Cardboard Boat Regatta will be held at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Aquatics Center, 60 N. 60 West. A horse show will then be held at 10 a.m. at the Horse Arena, 200 N. Main. A second show will take place at the arena at 4 p.m. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the Aquatics Center will host a free swim day, a Lazy River Duck Race at 3 p.m. and a Dime Dive at 3:30 p.m. The evening will conclude with a 6 p.m. flag-retirement ceremony at City Park.
Events on Friday, Aug. 5, include a video game tournament at 9 a.m. at the Community Center, 25 N. Main, the Lindon Days Junior Rodeo at 5 p.m. at the Horse Arena, followed by the Mayor’s Candy Scramble at 6 p.m.
The final day of the celebration will begin with a Family Fun Run at 7 a.m. at the Community Center. A flag-raising ceremony will then take place at 7:15 a.m., followed by the Mayor’s Breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., a parade will wind its way from Center Street at 500 East to Main Street.
The focus of events will then shift to Pheasant Brook Park, 800 West and 400 North, for a free family fair and food truck roundup. At 8:30 p.m., The Salamanders will perform, followed by fireworks at 8 p.m.
