Editor's note: In anticipation of the 121st college football season in Utah, DeseretNews.com writer Jay Yeomans is ranking the 50 greatest Division I college football players of all time from the state of Utah. We're counting down the 50 days until Sept. 1 when Southern Utah at Utah and Weber State at Utah State kick off at 6 p.m. Rankings are based on what the player did during his college career.
47. Demario Brown, Utah State, running back (1996-99)
Brown was just one of a handful of players to make a significant impact during each of his four seasons in Logan. He was a two-time first-team All-Big West selection and owns the distinction of being the all time leading rusher out of the Utah Division I schools. His most dominant year came as a senior in 1999 when he set a Utah State single season rushing record with 1,536 yards and scored 60 percent of the offense's 25 touchdowns.
For his Utah State career, he carried the ball 792 times for 4,053 yards and 37 touchdowns to go along with 90 catches for 925 yards and two scores.
No. 48: Utes wide receiver Bryan Rowley
No. 49: Robert Turbin was hard to stop
No. 50: Utah's Tom Hackett was a game-changing punter for the Utes
