The deadline to apply to join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is Aug. 15.

Candidates must live within 100 miles of Temple Square in Salt Lake City, be between the ages of 25 and 55 on or before April 30, 2017, and must be an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing and able to qualify for a temple recommend.

The application process includes several phases, including a formal application, a CD voice recording, a bishop's recommendation and a musical skills assessment to measure ability and aptitude. Those with acceptable scores will audition in person before the music directors.

Successful applicants will be accepted into the Temple Square Chorale and Choir School beginning January 2017. Those members will be required to attend rehearsals, performances as well as participate in a 16-week training school. Following a final exam and performance, members will be invited to join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
