Ballet West Executive Director Scott Altman is taking a position at the Cincinnati Ballet as their new executive director and will be in Salt Lake City until Sept. 30.

Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute has accepted the newly combined position of CEO and artistic director.

Altman joined Ballet West as executive director in 2013 and under his administrative leadership the company has expanded its touring schedule and experienced an increase in donor development and ticket sales, according to the news release. In 2016, Altman was named CEO of the Year by Utah Business magazine.

Sklute has served as artistic director since 2007. Previous to his work with Ballet West, Sklute was the associate director of The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. During his years with Ballet West, Sklute has expanded the company's repertoire, increased touring and public recognition for the Ballet West Academy and boosted international public exposure, according to a news release.

The current vice president of artistic and production operations, Michael Andrew Currey, will be promoted to the position of general manager. Ken Dodson, current vice president of finance and administration, will be promoted to the position of chief operating officer, according to the news release.

Ballet West was founded in 1963. In addition to presenting artistic entertainment, the company also provides training, education and outreach programs to children and adults throughout the state of Utah.
