The career website Zippia recently ranked the most successful states, and Utah made the list.

Zippia used poverty levels, median household income and the unemployment rates of each state to determine its rankings. Utah finished No. 9.

According to Zippia, Utah attracts a variety of people, from snowboarders to hipsters. The state has the seventh lowest poverty rate in the country and it ranked No. 13 for low unemployment and high median income.

Meanwhile, the website WalletHub ranked Provo-Orem Utah as the eighth most-educated city in the United States.

States whose workers have lower education levels tend to have lower median hourly wages, according to WalletHub. The median wage is $4 or $5 higher in states where at least 40 percent of the workforce has at least a bachelor's degree.
