In a 247sports article, Chris Hummer takes a look at the quarterback battle at BYU between Tanner Mangum and Taysom Hill.

Before he analyzes the two quarterbacks, Hummer writes, " Few teams in the country have the quarterback talent of BYU."

While talking about who fits best in the new offense, Hummer writes, "The adjustment to a pro-style offense seems to be the better fit for Mangum, who boasts a rocket arm and has improved his decision-making."

While talking about Hill and his skills in the ground game, Hummer continues, "Hill's hard-running style has gotten him injured more often than BYU would like of its starting QB (he played one game in 2015 and five in 2014), so if he does win the job, the a pro-style attack would naturally keep him in the pocket more, you'd think. At the same time, Detmer said if Hill is named the starter, there’s the possibility the Cougars continue to play to Hill’s strengths."

Kyle Whittingham named a top 20 college coach

Stewart Mandel of Fox Sports released his rankings of the top 20 coaches in college football and University of Utah coach Kyle Whittingham made the list at No. 17.

"Whittingham led the Utes to national prominence (including a 13-0 record and final No. 2 ranking in 2008) while in the Mountain West and now produced consecutive Top 25 seasons in the Pac-12. His teams are annually among the most physical in the country."

Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo made the list at No. 15, while former Utah coach Urban Meyer landed at the No. 2 spot.

Utah Jazz the focus of Summer Rewind

The Utah Jazz were the focus of Bobby Marks of The Vertical in his latest summer rewind. He broke down everything from the new acquisitions to the salary cap to the depth chart.

In discussing Joe Johnson, Marks writes, "The acquisition of Johnson should lessen the workload for Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood.

Although the 35-year-old Johnson will not be the primary focus in Utah, defenses still need to respect his ability to close games and his positional versatility.

Johnson proved in the second half last season with Miami (13.4 points per game) that he is still an effective scorer when used in the right role.

One thing Utah will not need to worry about is Johnson’s durability.

The veteran has only missed seven games since the 2013-14 season."
