Former Southern Utah quarterback Brad Sorensen is back in the NFL, after the Minnesota Vikings signed him Saturday.
Sorensen was released by San Diego in April. He has spent most of his time in the NFL on the Chargers' practice squad since the team drafted him in 2013. He also spent time on Tennesse's practice squad in 2014 and briefly joined the San Diego's active roster in December last year.
Sorensen's NFL action has been held to preseason play. In 12 preseason contests, he has thrown for 786 yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He joins a Minnesota quarterback group that includes starter Teddy Bridgewater, veteran Shaun Hill and rookie Joel Stave, while Taylor Heinicke is on the non-football injury list.
Sorensen rejoins his brother in the pros. Former BYU safety Daniel Sorensen is heading into his third year with Kansas City.
