Large pump trucks place concrete in footings as Real Salt Lake holds a ceremonial groundbreaking for its $50 million Training Academy complex in Herriman on Tuesday. Nearly 200 cement trucks kicked off the seven-hour pour at 5 a.m., finishing the 10,000-square-foot primary footings for the eight-field, indoor/outdoor complex that will house Real Salt Lake, the Real Monarchs and the club's U-18 and U-16 academy teams. The complex will also provide accommodations for a 300-student science, technology, engineering and math school that will open next August.
