MURRAY — Alan Scott, a teacher at Murray High School, has been named the Music Educator of the Year by the Utah High School Activities Association.

Scott, who has been with the district since 1995, is now in the running for the Outstanding Music Educator Award from the National Federation of State High School Associations. That award is given based on a teacher’s contributions to high school music activities and to the profession both in and out of the state.
