SALT LAKE CITY — Hikers were evacuated from the Ensign Peak trailhead where a grass fire began around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Crews responded to the fire at 163 E. Ensign Vista Dr. (1005 North) and had the fire 100 percent contained in less than an hour, according to the Salt Lake Fire Department.

About 20 acres were burned in the fire. No structures were burned.

The fire may have been caused by dry lightening passing through the area before the grass caught fire, according to firefighters.
