TAYLORSVILLE — To prepare for the construction of a freeway-style interchange at 5400 South and Bangerter Highway, the Utah Department of Transportation will relocate a segment of the Jordan Aqueduct that extends north and south in the area.

To accommodate the work, the southbound portion of the continuous flow intersection will be reconfigured to a traditional intersection. Drivers traveling south on Bangerter Highway will use a center turn lane at the intersection to turn left. Northbound traffic will continue to use the existing continuous flow intersection to make left turns. Work on the aqueduct relocation is anticipated to extend through February 2017.

UDOT is currently working to acquire the properties needed for the interchange. A design-build contractor will be selected in early 2017 and construction will begin soon after, extending through late 2018.
