Michael Weast cleans a part for an Airbus A350 XWB at Orbital ATK Aerospace Structures in Clearfield on Tuesday as the company celebrated the milestone of 100,000 large composite aerospace structures manufactured for the commercial airliner. Orbital ATK — a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies — designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation systems for customers around the world. Orbital ATK’s patented automated stiffener forming machines have been instrumental in the development and manufacture of composite stringers and frames and contributed to reaching this milestone. This highly engineered technology is essential to manufacturing parts for the A350 XWB.
