SALT LAKE CITY — Utah is coming back to the Disney Channel.

The second season of “Andi Mack,” which is filmed in Salt Lake City, will premiere this Friday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. MDT on the Disney Channel and the Disney Channel app.

The show chronicles the life of a young girl named Andi Mack, portraying “realistic and optimistic stories about a girl, her friends and family," according to a press release.

The show’s writer and executive producer, Terri Minski, formerly worked on "Lizzie McGuire."

The show stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Lilan Bowden, Lauren Tom, Joshua Rush, Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel.

The show has reached more than 45 million viewers and has ranked as the No. 1 show for kids ages 2 to 11, 6 to 11 and tweens from 9 to 14 years old, according to a press release.

The second season’s premier will show Andi encouraging her friends to plan a future together, while she also gets invited to a party.

Us Weekly reports that the second season will feature Disney's first ever gay main character and coming out storyline.
