BYU center Eric Mika is going to test the NBA waters.

The school announced Wednesday that the sophomore will enter his name for the 2017 NBA draft but will not hire an agent.

“We support Eric and will do whatever we can to help him through this process,” BYU head coach Dave Rose said in a statement. “Eric had an outstanding year for us. He worked incredibly hard coming off his mission to be ready for this past season and I expect he’ll demonstrate that same work ethic throughout this process.”

An early-entry player, Mika can start working out for teams beginning April 25 and is eligible as well to be invited to the NBA draft combine, which runs May 9-14 in Chicago. He has until May 24 to withdraw from the draft to maintain his eligibility.
