In a recently released music video, vocal group Anthem Lights twists “I’ll Fly Away,” “I Saw the Light” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” to create an original Southern spiritual.

These classics have long been a part of American folksong. The lyrics “Coming for to carry me home” and “When I die hallelujah by and by, I’ll fly away” are ingrained in history.

Anthem Lights, consisting of four members, Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham, Joey Stamper and Spencer Kane, was formed in Los Angeles in 2009, according to their iTunes biography.

The “Southern Gospel Medley” song is a part of their new album, “Hymns,” which was released April 7. The album includes other classic hymns like “I Need Thee Every Hour,” “Amazing Grace” and “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.”

On previous albums, the group has released original songs, medleys and covers.

The Anthem Lights posted on Twitter that this medley was their grandparents' favorite song on the album.
