MEADOW, Millard County — An Ogden woman was killed and a man critically injured after a motorcycle crash on I-15 on Friday.

Passenger Randi L. Mahas, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, UHP reported.

Utah Highway Patrol trooper Jared Cornia said the driver, a 37-year-old man from Farr West, and Mahas were traveling south on I-15 in Meadow at about 12:13 p.m. when the driver lost control of the motorcycle.

Witnesses said the bike, a black 1999 Harley Davidson, had reached a high speed and began to "wobble," Cornia said.

"The driver wasn't able to correct and they tipped over," Cornia said.

Both the driver and passenger flew off the bike, the trooper said. Neither of them were wearing helmets.

The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Cornia said. The male driver was taken in critical condition to a hospital in Filmore by ambulance before later being flown by medical helicopter to a Provo hospital.

After the crash, southbound I-15 was closed from milepost 158 to milepost 146 for about three hours.
