AT&T announced Monday that the company's regional sports brand, ROOT Sports, will be rebranded as AT&T SportsNet this summer.
The company's announcement said the station will not lose any of its passion for covering local sports but will improve its presentation. The station will have an improved graphics package, with photographs and high-level animation to replace the purely animated ones used before.
The company said the new logo and visuals will appear continually through off-air and promotional content beginning immediately, and the on-air transition will begin July 14.
"The new AT&T SportsNet brand promises to keep the same authentic local sports coverage while pursuing more enhanced storytelling. As always, the network will continue to be the trusted connection to our teams, players, sponsors, and viewers. When the networks officially transition to AT&T SportsNet, all of the existing team partnerships and programming will remain intact," the announcement said.
