ADAMSVILLE, Beaver County — A 76-year-old man killed his wife, who was bed-ridden and suffering from dementia, before killing himself, police reported Saturday.

Beaver County Sheriff Cameron Noel said the man called the sheriff’s office around 6:35 p.m. Saturday to tell police he had shot his wife and was going to kill himself. The man also told police where they could find his body— under a tree outside the couple's home on Main Street.

The couple retired to the town about five years ago. Noel said the man didn’t have a history of mental illness.
