The BYU-Utah rivalry is headed to Las Vegas again.
The 64-team bracket for The Basketball Tournament was unveiled Tuesday, and it includes a first-round matchup of two teams tied to the Cougars and Utes.
Team Utah, made up of several Ute alumni, earned a No. 7 seed in the West Region while Team Fredette, with its BYU ties, will be the No. 10 seed in the region.
The two teams will play Saturday, July 15, at 5 p.m. MT at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas.
Team Wasatch Front, primarily made up of Weber State alumni, earned the No. 11 seed in the West and plays No. 6 seed Team Challenge ALS in the first round on July 15 at 8:30 p.m.
Team Utah is led by former Ute Shaun Green, the general manager for the team. The squad includes other ex-Utah players such as Lawrence Borha, Tim Drisdom, Richard Chaney, Justin Hawkins, Bryant Markson and Dakarai Tucker, as well as former UVU forward Peter Brown.
Team Fredette includes former Cougars Brandon Davies and Charles Abouo, with Jimmer Fredette serving as coach for the team.
Whoever wins the first-round game between Team Fredette and Team Utah could face the region’s No. 2 seed, Few Good Men, in the second round. Few Good Men, which played No. 15 seed Mostly Sports Delco, is made up primarily of Gonzaga alumni and is coached by Dan Dickau.
Last year, Team Utah upset Few Good Men in TBT’s Super 16.
Team Wasatch Front is coached by former Wildcat Damian Lillard and includes former Weber State players Scott Bamforth, Kellen McCoy, Davion Berry, Daviin Davis, Steve Panos, David Patten, Kyle Tresnak and Brody Van Brocklin.
Team Colorado, made up of Buffalo alumni, is the top seed in the West Region. Team Colorado reached the championship game last year, losing to Overseas Elite, the back-to-back champions in the tournament that awards $2 million to the champions.
Winners of the first two rounds will advance to the Super 16 in New York on July 20 and 23, with the semifinals and championship in Baltimore on Aug. 1 and 3.
