OGDEN — The Los Angeles Dodgers assigned their 2017 first-round draft pick to the Ogden Raptors, according to a Tuesday press release by the Raptors.

Jeren Kendall, who was selected 23rd overall, played three years at Vanderbilt University, and he is slated as one of the top baseball prospects in the country according to MLBPipeline.com and Baseball America.

In his three college seasons, Kendall batted .309 with 32 home runs, 36 doubles, 19 triples, 67 stolen bases, 156 runs scored and 152 RBIs.

Kendall is slotted to make his Ogden debut Tuesday, batting second and playing centerfield in a home game against Helena.
