Brian David Sweeney was a passenger on flight 175 the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, when his airplane was hijacked.
Brian's message and his wife's thoughts were documented by the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
As the situation became dire, David left a message for his wife, Julie Sweeney Roth, on her answering machine.
"If things don't go well … I just want you to know I absolutely love you," Sweeney told his wife. "I want you to do good — go have good times — same to my parents and everybody. And I just totally love you, and I'll see you when you get there."
Roth said she believed David did not leave the message until he knew he would not be coming home.
"It was his final request of me, and his final way to let me know that he was going to be OK," Roth said of Sweeney's message. "He believed that he'd see me again, and that's all I needed to know."
