SALT LAKE CITY — This morning, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square announced the schedule for their 2018 Classic Coast Tour — a 16-day journey beginning on June 18.
The tour will feature five performances throughout California, Washington and Vancouver, Canada.
The California portion of the tour will take place from June 19-June 27, with stops in Costa Mesa, Mountain View and Rohnert Park. The choir anticipates adding other California appearances to the Classic Coast Tour, with announcements to follow in the near future, according to a news release.
Following the California leg of their journey, the choir and orchestra will cross over into Canada for a performance at the Orpheum in Vancouver, British Columbia, on June 30. The tour will then conclude with a performance in Seattle on July 2.
It is anticipated that tickets will be on sale at most venues by Dec. 1, 2017. All of the performances will incorporate the choir's vast repertoire, which ranges from choral masterworks to American folk hymns, according to the release.
"There is nothing quite like hearing the choir and orchestra live in concert, and experiencing their signature all-encompassing sound," said choir president Ron Jarrett in the release. "We love going on the road to connect with our audiences and seeing first-hand the pure joy music can bring to the hearts and minds of our fans."
