SALT LAKE CITY — In addition to witnessing an explosion of fireworks, those attending this year’s Stadium of Fire in Provo will also get a performance from pop-rock band OneRepublic.
On Wednesday night, KSL announced that Stadium of Fire will be bringing in the band behind the hits “Apologize” and “Counting Stars” for its 38th season.
Paul Warner, executive director and president of America’s Freedom Festival in Provo, mentioned that the organization had been working for a number of years to bring in the band from Colorado Springs.
OneRepublic marks a shift in the fourth of July extravaganza's recent headliners, as last year it featured country artists Little Big Town and Hunter Hayes, and the year before that, country star Tim McGraw.
Since its start in 1980, Stadium of Fire has brought a wide array of performers to LaVell Edwards Stadium, including Journey, Huey Lewis and the News, Gladys Knight, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, The Beach Boys, Brad Paisley and Miley Cyrus.
Those who subscribe to America’s Freedom Festival email list will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to purchase Stadium of Fire tickets before the general public, according to freedomfestival.org. Presale tickets will be available starting Thursday, Jan. 18, at 9 a.m. MST. Tickets to the general public will go on sale Friday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. MST.
