For the fifth year in a row, students from Utah middle schools, high schools and colleges showcased interactive projects focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics during the annual Utah Stem Expo on Saturday.

The event at Mountain America Expo Center was hosted and organized by Beehive Science and Technology Academy, a STEM-focused charter school, and was free and open to the public.

Hanifi Oguz, principal of Beehive Science and Technology Academy, said the expo is meant not only to bolster student excitement in STEM studies, but to also generate interest among members of the community.
