SALT LAKE CITY — When it comes to dog names, Fido and Spot are clearly out this year.

What’s up: Mashable reported that the dog walker and pet sitting site Rover.com has released its annual list of the 100 most popular male and female dog names of the year.

Rover.com compiled the list based off of information from its database of over a million dogs.

Instead of the traditional “pet names,” this year’s list had a notable amount of human names on it.

Top names for male dogs:

  • Max
  • Charlie
  • Cooper
  • Buddy
  • Jack
  • Rocky
  • Duke
  • Bear
  • Tucker
  • Oliver

Top names for female dogs:

  • Bella
  • Lucy
  • Luna
  • Daisy
  • Lola
  • Sadie
  • Molly
  • Bailey
  • Maggie
  • Stella

Last year, Herb Scribner of the Deseret News wrote about a report published by the American Kennel Club that listed the most popular dog in each state. You can read the story here.
