HERRIMAN — Authorities on Tuesday recovered the body of a 20-year-old college student from Herriman in the foothills near his home.

Tanner Oblad was last seen Feb. 21 when he was heading to class at Salt Lake Community College's Taylorsville campus but did not return home, police said.

The student had autism but was high-functioning, said Unified police detective Ken Hansen.

Detectives traced Oblad's path by looking at surveillance video, Hansen said. They used a Department of Public Safety helicopter to find his remains Tuesday about 2 p.m.

Hansen said officers do not suspect foul play and were awaiting an autopsy from the state medical examiner.
