CLEARFIELD — A Clearfield man who allegedly told police that he "has a problem" was charged Friday with possessing child pornography.

Jason Lee Cummins, 31, is charged in 2nd District Court with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

Police began investigating Cummins in August or September when the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received videos of child rape, according to charging documents.

On Monday, investigators served a search warrant on Cummins' home.

"Jason stated that he has a problem and he needs our help," a Davis County Jail report states.

A search of Cummins' computer and phone resulted in the discovery of "several thousand files of child pornography," the report states, including some homemade images.

"Jason stated (on) one of the drives in his computer there is about a terabyte and a half of child pornography on it," according to the report.

An initial court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 12.
