WASHINGTON — Private donors spent as much as $107 million for President Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017, The New York Times reports.

- $10,000 for makeup for 20 aides.
- $30,000 in per diem payments to dozens of people on the staff.
- Payments for “hotel rooms, room service orders, plane tickets and taxi rides, including some to drop off laundry,” according to NYT.
- The entire bill from the Trump International Hotel hovered around $1.5 million.
Big picture: The New York Times says, “The expansive spending reflected Mr. Trump’s desire to make a grand entrance, with roughly 20 events around Washington, people familiar with the events said.
