League of Legends will expand this year to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

What’s going on: Developer Riot Games unveiled a slew of new content connected to League of Legends that will take the franchise into new places. Prior to this announcement, League of Legends was a simply PC strategy game that hit mega popularity among esports competitors, according to The Verge.

New game: League of Legends unveiled a game called Project L, which is a 2D fighting game with League of Legends characters. The game is still in development.

Animated series: Riot unveiled a new animated series called Arcane, which will be available next year. The game’s description: “Set in utopian Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions — and the power that will tear them apart.”

Digital card game: Legends of Runeterra will be a free-to-play digital card game to PC and mobile.

Esports management game: League of Legends unveiled a new “League of Legends Esports Manager” game where you manage a professional League of Legends team. It’ll include the Chinese LPL next year.

Mystery: Project F is in development, too. Per Riot, it is “a very early development project that explores the possibilities of traversing the world of Runeterra with your friends.” No other hints about what that means.
