SALT LAKE CITY — Utah athletics is No. 1 in the nation. The Utes topped all Power Five public institutions in the latest NCAA Graduate Success Rate figures that were released this week, with 94% of student-athletes at the university graduating within six years of enrolling.
It’s the second-highest mark in school history, second only to the 95% mark posted last year. The Utes have recorded a GSR in excess of 90% for three straight years.
“We are pleased with the results of the latest GSR report and proud of the work our student-athletes are doing in the classroom,” Utah director of athletics Mark Harlan said in announcing the results. “Graduation is the goal for all of our student-athletes and to have such outstanding success in that area is proof of their commitment and dedication. I also want to thank our coaches and academic staff for caring so profoundly about our student-athletes.”
Utah led or tied for first in the Pac-12 in seven sports in terms of GSR — football, men’s basketball, men’s tennis, gymnastics, soccer, women’s tennis and volleyball.
