A “Star Wars” character who died in the original trilogy may appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series slated for Disney Plus, or at least it seems that way, according to ComicBook.com.

Reporter Josh Horowitz recently spoke with Joel Edgerton, who played Owen Lars in the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy. It turns out that Edgerton has seemed pretty coy about appearing in the new series, which might be evidence that he may appear.

“Caught up with Joel Edgerton today (check out THE KING! I really enjoyed),” Josh Horowtiz tweeted on Tuesday. “I have almost no doubt based on his coy evasiveness that he will be in the Obi Wan Disney+ series. I’ve seen many an actor playfully evade. I’m placing a big bet that Owen will be back.”

What would happen: Owen Lars dies in “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope” from an assault by the Empire when stormtroopers are seeking out R2-D2 and C-3PO. In the prequel trilogy, he makes small appearances as Owen, specifically at the end of “Revenge of the Sith” when he takes on parenthood of Luke Skywalker.

“If Edgerton does return in the Disney+ series, it means that the series will explore the relationship between Owen and Obi-Wan. Could this also mean exploring what Luke was like a child,” according to ComicBook.com.

Darth Maul: Rumors suggest Darth Maul could make an appearance in the prequel series, too, since he briefly appeared in the animated “Star Wars Rebels” — when Obi-Wan was already an older man, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Darth Vader: There have also been rumors at Darth Vader could appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
