SALT LAKE CITY — It wasn’t always pretty, but the Utah Jazz made the necessary plays down the stretch and came away with a 100-95 home win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in both teams’ season opener on Wednesday night.

Here are three takeaways from the game.

  • Donovan Mitchell took over down the stretch. With 3:56 remaining and the Jazz down 86-85, Mitchell scored 10 points with six rebounds, an assist and a steal to lift Utah to the win.
  • The Jazz outscored the Thunder 32-21 in the fourth quarter
  • Utah did struggle from behind the 3-point line, going just 6 of 24.
