Kanye West previewed his new album Wednesday night in Los Angeles, and apparently it has a song centered around Chick-fil-A, according to People magazine.
West held a special screening event Wednesday at The Forum in Los Angeles, sharing both music from his album and the new “Jesus Is King” IMAX film, which will be similar to West’s Sunday Service event.
One of the songs has a chorus that goes: “Closed on Sunday / You my Chick-fil-A.”
“Closed on Sunday / You my Chick-fil-A / Hold the selfies / Put the ‘gram away / Get your family / Now hold hands and pray,” West raps on the song, according to People magazine.
It’s unclear which song this line comes from. Kim Kardashian tweeted out a tracklist in August that included a song called “Sunday,” which might be this song. But as Fox News reported earlier this month, the line could come from a song called “Closed on Sundays.”
West confirmed the tracklist Friday, which included a song called “Closed on Sundays.”
West revealed this past Sunday that “Jesus Is King” will drop on Friday. He tweeted a photo of the album cover, which appears to be a blue vinyl disk, as reported by the Deseret News.
West’s new album has been reported to be a gospel album, which fits with his ongoing Sunday Service events, one of which came to Salt Lake City.
The Chick-fil-A line would fit with that theme since the Christian-owned business is closed on Sundays.
“Closing our business on Sunday, the Lord’s Day, is our way of honoring God and showing our loyalty to Him,” Chick-fil-A’s founder, Truett Cathy, wrote in his book, titled “Eat Mor Chikin: Inspire More People,” according to Business Insider.
