President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that he wants the old iPhone back — the one with the home button, which may be something relatable for smartphone users.
“To Tim: The Button on the IPhone was FAR better than the Swipe!” Trump tweeted.
The last iPhone model with a home key was the iPhone 8. The full screen, edge-to-edge design came in 2017 with the iPhone X.
Trump used to use an Android device before switching it to the iPhone device, White House director of social media Dan Scavino Jr. revealed in March.
He wrote that Trump “has been using his new iPhone for the past couple of weeks here on Twitter. Yes, it is #POTUS45 reading & tweeting!”
Trump could be a fan of the new iPhone SE 2, a rumored product that will reportedly look like the iPhone 8, which means it could have the full button once again, according to The Verge.
Trump was often criticized for using an Android device since it wasn’t a secure piece of hardware, according to The Associated Press. He turned over the device in January 2017.
Trump began using a more secure and encrypted device that had been issued by the Secret Service once he became president-elect, which included a new phone number, according to The New York Times.
