Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the company’s new Cybertruck on Thursday, although his demonstration didn’t go quite as planned.

During the big reveal, Musk claimed the car to be “literally bulletproof,” according to CNN. Musk then went on to explain that this was due to the car’s composition — being made out of stainless steel alloy, the same material SpaceX is currently using to make rockets.

After the car was hit with a sledgehammer several times, it seemed to have no visible damage. When a metal ball was thrown at one of the car’s windows, though, the glass shattered, according to CNN.

After the glass was broken, Musk said that the ball was probably just thrown too hard. He then had his lead designer, Franz Von Holzhausen, throw the ball once more, this time at a different window, according to CNBC.

The glass was broken yet again.

After the incident, Musk took a moment to point out that, while the car’s windows were broken, the ball didn’t go through.

“We threw wrenches, we threw everything, even literally the kitchen sink, at the glass and it didn’t break. For some weird reason, it broke now,” Musk said. “I don’t know why. We will fix it in post.”

CNBC reporter Lora Kolodny later tweeted about the unveiling, sarcastically commenting that it went “smashingly.”

Despite the car’s marred introduction, Musk took to Twitter to claim that a pressurized version of the Cybertruck would be the “official truck of Mars.”

According to The Wall Street Journal, the Cybertruck’s base model will be priced at just under $40,000.
