Large egg-like ice balls are falling on a beach in Finland. Videos of the ice have gone viral across the internet.
The balls are falling on a beach in Hailuoto, Finland, which has excited people who are visiting the area.
“This was (an) amazing phenomenon, (I’ve) never seen before,” Tarja Terentjeff told CNN. “The whole beach was full of these ice balls.”
Hailuoto is located in the Gulf of Bothnia, which separates Finland and Sweden in the Baltic Sea.

According to CNN Weather, the ice balls fall when crazy water breaks up slushy ice.
A frequent visitor, Sirpa Teroa, said the balls of ice aren’t rare. There are usually fewer falling than there are this year, per NY Daily News.
