Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell are reportedly in talks to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” according to Variety.
Serkis is being considered for the role of Alfred Pennyweather, Bruce Wayne’s butler, while Farrell would play the villain Penguin, Variety reported.
This would not be the first time that Serkis and Reeves have worked together — Reeves directed Serkis in “Planet of the Apes,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Paul Dano had been cast in the role of the Riddler, the Deseret News reported.
Other cast members include Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Robert Pattinson in the title role, according to Variety.
Neither Serkis or Farrell are strangers to comic book movies. Serkis played the role of Ulysses Klaue in 2018’s “Black Panther” and is set to direct the second “Venom” movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Farrell, meanwhile, played Bullseye in 2003’s “Daredevil,” according to Variety.
There isn’t an official date yet for filming to begin on “The Batman,” though Variety reports that it is likely to begin in late 2019 or early 2020.
“The Batman” will come to theaters June 25, 2021.
