Amazon has removed a slew of Christmas ornaments that showed images of Poland’s Auschwitz Memorial, a former concentration camp, BBC News reports.
The ornaments reportedly showed scenes from the former Nazi concentration camp, where millions were murdered during World War II.
The ornaments included:
- Christmas tree decorations.
- A bottle opener.
- A mousepad.
The ornaments included images of the camp’s gates, barbed wire fences and the buildings that housed the victims of the camp, which mainly consisted of those of the Jewish faith, according to BBC News.
In a tweet, the Poland Auschwitz Memorial called for Amazon to remove the ornaments, which were called “disturbing and disrespectful.”
Later, the memorial released an update saying that the ornaments had been removed.
The seller of the ornaments have other products featuring locations from around the world. One of those includes the Genbaku Dome, which was located at the Hiroshima bomb location, CNN reports.
Amazon released a statement to CNN: “All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action, including potential removal of their account. The products in question have been removed.”
