Kristin Chenoweth is slated to headline a comedy special that will soon be heading to Disney Plus. The series is titled “The Biggest Star in Appleton,” and will be theater-themed.

According to Deadline, the show is being created and written by Paul Rudnick, whose other work includes “Sister Act” and “Addams Family Values.”

Meanwhile, the show’s producer, Dan Jinks, won an Oscar for his work producing “American Beauty.” His other work also includes “Milk,” for which Sean Penn won the Academy Award for best actor, and “Big Fish,” which was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for best motion picture.

In the series, Chenoweth will play Carol Dannhauser, a mom and waitress who is the biggest star in her local Wisconsin theater community, according to Playbill. When Tara Hubley moves back home after struggling to make a career for herself in New York, though, Carol’s spot at the top will be threatened.

According to Variety, Chenoweth will not only star in the show, but will also serve as an executive producer.
