John Lennon has been heard all over the world since his Beatles days, but since then, his songs have lived on through other iconic artists, too.

Elton John — ‘Imagine’

Shortly after Lennon’s death, Elton John made a tribute to him by singing “Imagine” at a free concert he gave in Central Park — just a few blocks away from where the former member of the Beatles was shot and killed, according to Smooth Radio. “Imagine” is a popular song for many artists to cover, according to MTV.

David Bowie — ‘Across the Universe’

As part of his “Young Americans” album, fellow British singer-songwriter David Bowie recorded his own rendition of “Across the Universe.” The cover included backing guitar and vocals by the actual Lennon, according to Smooth Radio.

Ozzy Osbourne — ‘How?’

In support of Amnesty International and in commemoration of what would’ve been Lennon’s 70th birthday, Osbourne recorded his own “melancholy” version of Lennon’s “How?” according to The Guardian. He shot the accompanying music video on the streets of New York City, where Lennon was killed. This was an extension of Amnesty International’s series of Lennon covers by popular artists, which collected all of the proceeds for charity.

Steven Tyler — ‘Come Together’

This 1970s rocker was among the many artists who paid tribute to Lennon at the John Lennon 75th Birthday Concert. Tyler followed in the footsteps of his former cover of “Come Together” when he was the lead singer of of the band Aerosmith.
