Not only has “Frozen 2” been dominating the box office, but now the soundtrack has reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Billboard reported.

The soundtrack debuted Nov. 15, and its rise to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts marked several firsts, according to Billboard.

  • “Frozen 2” is the first new full-length soundtrack to make it to the No. 1 spot in 2019, according to Billboard.
  • What’s more, it is also the first animated film soundtrack to reach number one since the soundtrack of the original “Frozen” in 2014.
  • The “Frozen 2” soundtrack is only the fifth soundtrack of an animated film to make it to No. 1 on the Billboard chart since the chart began to be published in 1956, according to Billboard.
  • The other animated film soundtracks that have reached the number one spot are “Frozen,” Jack Johnson’s “Curious George,” and Disney’s “Pocahontas” and “The Lion King.”

Since its debut, the “Frozen 2” soundtrack has seen the equivalent of 80,000 album sales in the United States, according to the New York Times. This includes 51 million streams and 37,000 copies of the album that were sold in entirety.

In more good news for “Frozen 2,” the film has also been nominated for two Golden Globes, in the categories of animated film and original song for “Into the Unknown,” according to USA Today.
