SALT LAKE CITY — Chris Pratt took the traditional route in asking Katherine Schwarzenegger to marry him by first asking her father for his permission, something Pratt said made him "nervous," according to People.

The couple has been together since June 2018 and announced their engagement in January.

Pratt told "Extra" that anyone who "appreciates the tradition" of asking the father for his blessing would be a "little nervous." But turns out Pratt didn't have much to worry about.

According to People, Arnold Schwarzenegger told "Extra" after the couple announced their engagement that he loves Pratt and can tell he and Katherine are "so happy."

Pratt and Schwarzenegger met through Schwarzenegger's mother, Maria Shriver, and after only seven months of dating decided to tie the knot. Pratt's son Jack also supports his father's engagement to Schwarzenegger.
