SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson on Wednesday appointed two new executive staff members as part of her newly reorganized administration.
Catherine Kanter, who managed the successful statewide redistricting ballot initiative campaign, will serve as deputy mayor of regional operations, and Mike Reberg, department director for Salt Lake City Community and Neighborhoods, will serve as assistant deputy mayor of regional operations.
The two will focus on economic development, regional transportation, planning, housing and homeless services, along with environmental services.
Kanter’s experience in local politics includes a run for an at-large seat on the County Council in 2016 and serving on the Granite Community Council and county’s Mountainous Planning Commission.
Reberg, who also served as assistant director of public works for the county, has 25 years of experience in government service.
The appointments must be confirmed by the County Council.
