SALT LAKE CITY — President Donald Trump decided to use a meme from “Game of Thrones”in his response to the Mueller report’s release on Thursday, and HBO was not happy.
Trump tweeted a picture of himself next to a cloud of smoke with the words “Game over” written in the same font used for the “Game of Thrones” title just minutes after Attorney General William Barr spoke at a press conference about the Mueller report.
HBO released a statement about Trump’s tweet, according to USA Today.
“Though we can understand the enthusiasm for 'Game of Thrones' now that the final season has arrived, we still prefer our intellectual property not be used for political purposes."
Flashback: Trump previously tweeted a picture with “Game of Thrones” font back in November 2018, warning the country Iran that “Sanctions are coming.”
HBO issued a humorous statement at the time that said, "How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?"
